The “Raise the Wage Act of 2019,” which has now passed the US. House, would raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2025, index the minimum wage to the national median wage, and phase out the “tipped minimum wage” of $2.13 for tipped workers. This would raise the wages of tens of millions of people, providing essential income for families who need it most―including 23.1 million women and 4.5 million single parents. I urge you to support the “Raise the Wage Act of 2019” and preserve the minimum wage as one of the country’s most basic labor protections. We demand that you hold a vote on this important legislation in the U.S. Senate to allow millions of working people to receive the pay they deserve.
